About

So who are we and why are we doing this?

We are Jan’s family…her husband Manly, and her daughters Stacey and Wendy.

We are her grandchildren, Ethan and Sasha, to whom Jan dedicated the book:

‘You live in the moment, walk in sunshine and share that with me every day…We have a very special bond! I love you…Nanna’

Jan always talked about how important her family was to her, and she was very important to us. It was her wish to have us continue to market the book when she was gone.

We watched as cancer transformed Jan. At first, it consumed her, then it fought her, and finally, it made her stronger. She learned so much from the disease…and in the end, although cancer took her from us, it also gave us something. Hands Off My Hope! is Jan’s legacy. It is now up to us to keep that legacy alive.

“With candor and courage, Jan has given words to the challenges that face women who are living with cancer. It offers healthcare providers and family members an intimate glimpse into what it is like to face a cancer dagnosis so they can offer meaningful support.”
